Certificate Programs
The certificate programs are great for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree (although not required for some programs) in another discipline with the opportunity to obtain skills and knowledge in a field that they may be currently working in or pursuing.
CSU Channel Islands (CI) Extended University offers certificate programs in the following areas:
The program lays the necessary business foundation for career advancement and success. For those interested in pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), the coursework completed under this certificate satisfies the course prerequisites for the MBA program offered by the Business & Economics Program at CI. Bachelor’s Degree in any field required.
Equivalent to a minor in Chemistry, the certificate provides advanced Chemistry coursework. Bachelor’s Degree in any field required.
Digital Media ArtProgram is designed to prepare individuals for an entry-level career working in the expanding field of Digital Media Art. Open to any student who wishes to take the required courses including those who attend through Open University.
SHRM Certification Prep Course
Course prepares individuals in the human resources field for the PHR and SPHR certification exams. To earn either the PHR or SPHR designation candidates must have at least two years of exempt-level experience in the HR field.
Certificate provides you the opportunity to develop your knowledge of social business. The course of study is similar to the minor, but fewer electives are required. Open to any CI student who wishes to take the required courses or those who attend through Open University.
Program helps you develop skills in technical writing. Program culmination is either an internship or a project of the student’s choice in consultation with his or her advisor. Open to any student who wishes to take the required courses including those who attend through Open University.
