Overview

CSU Channel Islands (CI) offers a Bachelor of Science in Business degree completion program in partnership with Santa Barbara City College. Students must complete the California State University transfer requirements and program prerequisites at the community college; all transfer requirements must be completed prior to admission in the BS degree completion program. The program offers an accelerated schedule and guaranteed course registration whereby students can obtain a BS in Business from CI in two years. The program has been shown to improve student retention and student satisfaction. Classes meet on the SBCC campus each Saturday for a total of 8 sessions of 11 weeks each. CI instructors teach all classes. Student advising is held on the SBCC campus and conducted by CI staff.

Fall Start:  Applicants must have Managerial Accounting and Financial Accounting completed before fall term begins.

Spring Start: Applicants must have Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Calculus completed before spring term begins.

Admissions

California State University Transfer Requirements:

GE certification
Completion of the following lower-division classes with grade of C or better:           
            Oral communication
            Written communication
            Critical thinking
            College level mathematics
Completion of 60 transferable semester units* or 100 transferable quarter units
GPA of 2.0 or better (2.4 GPA or better required for California nonresidents)
*60 units is the minimum transfer requirement. However, students will need to earn a minimum of 70 lower division units to complete the degree.

After submitting your application through CSU Mentor, you must apply to the program by submitting all materials listed in our BS in Business Application Checklist (PDF, 137.8 KB) to Extended University.
