Students in the Santa Barbara area are now able to earn a baccalaureate degree from CSU Channel Islands right in their own backyard. Degree completion programs are offered on either the SBCC Campus or CI’s Goleta Campus.
Offered through CI’s Martin V. Smith School of Business & Economics, the BS Business program has a liberal arts and interdisciplinary focus. Students learn the fundamental principles of accounting, economics, finance, information systems, management, and marketing as applied in a variety of organizational settings. A distinguishing feature of the program is the requirement to take courses developed in conjunction with disciplines outside the traditional business curriculum such as biology, chemistry, education, English, fine arts, history, and performing arts. Classes are held on the SBCC campus year-round in an accelerated format that allows students to complete the degree in two years or less.
Are you interested in continuing your education but your schedule or location prohibits you from coming to campus regularly? California State University Channel Islands (CI) Extended University will soon offer its BS Business degree fully online in an accelerated format.
Beginning Fall 2013 -- The BS/BUS-to-MBA-UG program admits students with excellent academic and career potential to transfer upon completion of 60 transferable units. Students earn a BS in Business during the first 2 years and an MBA in the following 18-24 months. Admission criteria balance candidates’ overall credentials including academic performance, internship and part-time work experience, leadership potential, and extracurricular activities. Students admitted to the BS/BUS-to-MBA program are secured a place in the MBA program as long as they maintain a 3.0 GPA in the undergraduate segment of the program and begin the MBA program immediately upon completion of the BS Business degree segment. Classes in the BS Business segment are held weekends, year-round on the SBCC campus.
