Note: Some courses may have additional lab fees. Fees are subject to change by the Trustees of the California State University and/or the campus President. The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter had begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees. The fees listed here will be contingent upon the decision by the Legislature. These fees do not apply to special session degree credit courses and programs, or state-supported courses scheduled in the summer.

Summer Financial Aid

  • The Summer 2021 semester is the trailing term of the 2020-2021 aid year. Eligibility is limited to matriculated students who have remaining eligibility from the 2020-2021 aid year.
  • Students interested in borrowing federal loans for the Summer must be enrolled at least half-time to remain eligible.
  • Undergraduate: Half-time is 6 or more units per semester
  • Graduate : Half-time is 4 or more units per semester
  • Any reduction of units could result in a reduction or cancellation of your financial aid, which may result in a balance due to the University and a hold placed on future enrollment.
  • The Financial Aid & Scholarships office must review Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for Spring 2021 prior to summer aid being disbursed, which occurs after Spring 2021 grades have been officially posted by the Registrar’s office. As such, financial aid will not be available at the time you enroll and you will be responsible for paying your tuition and fees by the payment due date.
  • A 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required and must be submitted no later than June 30, 2021.
  • If a student is eligible for financial aid for the Summer 2021 semester, the student will be notified of their Summer aid eligibility via myCI student e-mail account.
  • Students must log in to their myCI Student Portal to complete all requirements on the To-Do list and to accept or decline their Summer loan offer.
  • Students must meet the requirements of the CSU Channel Islands Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy for financial aid recipients to remain eligible for aid.
  • SAP will be evaluated at the conclusion of Spring 2021 to determine eligibility for Summer 2021 aid disbursement.
  • Please note that Fall 2021 aid disbursements will be delayed due to Summer 2021 enrollment, posting of grades and SAP determinations. For those students who meet the criteria the Financial Aid & Scholarships office will provide enrollment protection for Fall 2021 and students will not be dropped from their classes. Students in jeopardy of not meeting SAP requirements should be prepared to enter a payment plan for Fall 2021 pending the Summer SAP evaluation.

  • The payment of tuition and fees are the students’ responsibility. The payment due date for tuition and fees will be prior to Summer aid being disbursed. Any disbursement of aid for Summer 2021 will be treated as a refund.
  • Summer 2021 aid will begin to disburse on or after June 17, 2021 once Spring 2021 grades are official and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) has been reviewed.
  • Summer disbursements take place on Tuesday and Thursday each week.
