of California’s Channel Islands — taught in residence at the Santa Rosa Island Research
Station (SRIRS) within Channel Islands National Park and National Marine Sanctuary.

What You’ll Do
- Spend 10 days learning outdoors through hikes, tidepools, and fieldwork.
- Study geology, ecology, botany, and cultural history in an immersive setting.
- Live and learn as a community at SRIRS — cooking, exploring, and collaborating.

Costs & Support
All non-tuition expenses (housing, meals, island travel, materials) are covered by
the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation.
Students pay tuition only (approx. $1,095 total).
Bring your own personal gear (e.g., hiking boots, sleeping bag).
What to Expect
- Hike 2–14 miles per day and participate fully in team-based field activities.
- Facilities include indoor bunks, electricity, and running water.
- Limited connectivity — full engagement encouraged!
