CI’s Veterans Affairs Program assists prospective and enrolled student veterans and dependents* in transitioning and engaging with the campus community. Our goal is to help you make successful progress toward completion of your degree and move forward with your career goals.

New and prospective students are welcomed and encouraged to use your federal VA GI Bill®. Using your GI Bill® through Extended University can differ slightly from attending classes through stateside CSU Channel Islands. Please visit the Extended University Education Benefits webpage and the FAQ found within the webpage for more information. If you have other questions or concerns about the use of your benefits, feel free to contact the Veteran’s Advisor/VA School Certifying Official.

*Cal Vet Fee Waiver cannot be used for Extended University programs.

Through CI Extended University you can complete an undergraduate or graduate degree with schedule flexibility including evening programs, Saturday programs and programs offered online.

MyCAA / SpouseWorks Scholarship

MyCAA, also known as the SpouseWorks Scholarship, provides up to $4,000 in tuition assistance to eligible military spouses pursuing education and training for portable, high-demand careers.

Eligible spouses of active-duty, National Guard, and reserve service members may use MyCAA funding toward approved tuition, training programs, and certain testing fees. The program may be especially helpful for military spouses interested in CSU Channel Islands online programs through Extended University, with future opportunities for those stationed locally to continue in CI degree programs.

MyCAA supports flexible education options, including fully online courses, and offers access to SECO career coaches for guidance with career planning, education pathways, and program selection.

Eligible spouses can create an account and apply through the MyCAA / SpouseWorks website.
