Pest Control Advisers (PCAs) are licensed professional consultants who serve California agriculture and horticulture producers. Specializing in pest management, they are an important resource to producers with regards to overall plant and crop health.
The PCA certificate offered by CI provides the educational requirements determined by the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. Successful completion of the certificate qualifies students to take the PCA licensing exam mandated and administered by the California DPR.
Pest Control Advisers( PCA’s) are licensed professional consultants who serve California agriculture in the field of practice known as Integrated Pest Management IPM.IPM is a discipline that employs elements of Entomology, Plant Pathology, Botany, Soil Science and Ag Science, as a means to offer growers information and advice associated with biological control of pests, plant nutrition, soil health and sustainable practices in combination with more traditional pest control methods when necessary to ensure overall crop health.Program Snapshot:
