Summer Semester

Steps for Registration

• If you are returning to CI or working towards reinstatement:
  1. Complete the intent to enroll. 
  2. Wait 3-5 business days for confirmation email stating your account has been reactivated
  3. Enroll using myCI
     • Please visit the Registrars webpage for helpful enrollment tutorials
     • Having trouble with your username or password? Please visit Information Technology Services
• If you are enrolling at CI for the first time:
  1. Complete the intent to enroll (dates TBD)
  2. Wait 3-5 business days for confirmation email stating your account has been activated
  3. Activate myCI when you receive your new user letter
  4. Enroll using myCI

Important Dates for Summer

Fall and Spring

1. Complete the Intent to enroll (Fall will open in early August).
2. Check the CSUCI Schedule of Classes for the days and times of courses.
3. Attend the first class meeting and ask the instructor for a permission number. You’ll use the number to enroll in the class through the myCI portal.
4. Login to the myCI portal and enroll in your class(es). Fees are due within 48 hours of registration

Deadlines

Registration

INTENT TO ENROLL IN OPEN U requests will be accepted 3 weeks before the start of the term and until the second Friday of the term. All course enrollments are made via the myCI portal using a valid permission number and must be completed by the 3^rd Friday of the term.

Drops

Classroom space is limited and in high demand.

• Week 1-3 of the semester: Refunds for drops are prorated from the start of the session at 1% a day. You may drop courses via your MyCI.
• After week 3: If you wish to drop a course after the 3^rd week of the semester, you must petition with Extended University. There are no refunds after the 3^rd week of the semester.

Disenrollment

Disenrollment for non-payment of fees is run once a week. Students must pay all fees in full within 48 hours or risk being dropped from courses.

Late Add/Drop

A Petition for Exception form is required for any adds or drops after the 3^rd week of the term.

Student ID Cards

Open University students will receive a Student ID card. The fee is $15.00 and will automatically be charged to your account. Student ID cards can be picked up at the Student Business Service office on the first floor of Sage Hall.
