You are now one step closer to earning your MBA! This page will provide you the details you need to complete the admissions process.

To apply, just follow these four easy steps:

Step One: Learn about the MBA program at CSU Channel Islands and your eligibility.

Step Two: Apply to CSU Channel Islands through Cal State Apply.

Step Three: Submit documents and test scores. For specifics, please see below.

Step Four: Submit Intent to Enroll and deposit ASAP.
You will be notified of your admissions status by email.
If you are accepted, you will also receive an Intent to Enroll form.
Please complete the form and submit it, along with a check or money order for $500 within twenty days of program acceptance. Your deposit will be applied to your first semester's tuition.

Application Periods

  • Fall: October 1 - June 1
  • Spring: August 1 - November 1

Program Pre-Requisites

Applicants with a conferred bachelor’s degree in any field, with a minimum GPA of 2.5, may apply online.

Required Documentation

The following documentation is required:

  • Statement of Purpose (summarizing professional experience, career objectives and reason for pursuing an MBA)
  • Resume reflecting at least two years of full-time work experience
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (at least one must be a professional recommendation)
  • One set of official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • GMAT/GRE Scores*

*GMAT/GRE may be waived for:

  • Applicants with an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Applicants with five or more years of professional experience that reflects an increasing level of responsibility
  • Students who complete the Certificate of Business (MBA Foundations courses) at CSUCI with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Applicants with a master’s degree from a regionally accredited university Note: The MBA program director makes the final decision to grant a GMAT/ GRE waiver. Contact a representative for the most current information.

How to Turn In Transcripts

Electronic

Electronic transcripts are preferred. You can request official electronic transcripts from your community college/university directly. If your school's transcript ordering system asks for a recipient name and email, please indicate CSU Channel Islands and ext@csuci.edu. We will not accept transcripts emailed to our Admissions office from the student.

Program Summary

The program includes three parts:

  1. Foundations of Business courses (0-15 units)
  2. Core Courses (24 units)
  3. Special Topics courses (6 units)

Note: MBA Foundations are waived for BS Business Administration degrees and may be waived for equivalent coursework.

Graduate Writing Assessment Requirement

Prior to the awarding of the degree, writing proficiency is demonstrated by completion of BUS 520 - Strategy and Leadership with a grade of B or higher.
